Client

A Public Transport Operator

Challenge

Our customer required a quantity of 2,000 shape-cut, double sided PMS printed stickers/decals to be printed which they would self-install, outdoors, on a very large fleet of vehicles in Melbourne within 5 working days. The decals needed to be printed on both sides ensuring no show through (with a different campaign message printed on each side) and had to be UV resistant so they didn’t fade in the sunlight. Because these decals were to be installed on glass windows in a very high traffic position visible to many people in the general public, experience showed that these were likely and prone to graffiti and vandalism.

Solution

As we had worked with this client on the wider campaign we understood the purpose of the decals and the importance of the tight deadline and the high quality expectations.

It was decided to screen print the decals for durability knowing this printing process would provide and maintain colour integrity in the direct sunlight and harsh outdoor elements.

The decal required one side of adhesive for installation and so that each message could be read on both sides without visual interference, the middle layer was screen printed silver for a block out effect.

A specially made forme was made to die cut to the shape of the client’s artwork.

The decals were treated with a clear polyester anti-graffiti laminate to prevent future graffiti or vandalism.

Result

All 2,000 double sided decals were screen printed, forme cut to shape & bulk packed for despatch within 4 working days. We exceeded the client’s expectation not only with turn around/delivery but also supplying in accordance with our Barney’s Guarantee.
The stickers/decals will perform to the highest capabilities and retain colour brightness and last for many years in direct sunlight as a result of the high-quality screenprinting process.
